Kennedy clashed with Pennsylvania governor after measles-related deaths

Vaccination statements
Shapiro was referring to Kennedy’s statements before he joined the Trump administration, when he questioned the safety and effectiveness of vaccines, including the combined measles, mumps and rubella vaccine. The outlet also notes that Kennedy continues to send mixed signals regarding the importance of the MMR vaccination. According to STAT News, he downplayed the danger of measles and blamed others for declining vaccination rates.
