US House of Representatives temporarily blocks Trump’s plan on research grants
The US House of Representatives on Tuesday approved a temporary government funding bill that blocks the White House’s proposal to give political appointees more control over federal research grants.

The document was supported by 370 members of the House of Representatives, while 48 voted against it. The US Senate passed the same bill a month earlier. The document will then be sent to the US president for signature.
STAT News reported on Congress’s decision. The bill provides funding for the federal government through December 11. It is intended to help avoid a government shutdown and get through the midterm election period without a shutdown.

Temporary restriction
