Ukraine plans to introduce uniform standards for first-aid kits
Ukraine plans to standardize first-aid kits for civilians and introduce mandatory training for the public in first-aid skills.
A memorandum to this effect was signed by the public platform “Ukrtakmed” and the Verkhovna Rada’s interfactional deputy group “Ukrainian Tactical Medicine: Production, Standards, Development.”
The parties will work on establishing uniform medical and technical requirements for first-aid kits. They plan to legislate their mandatory presence in places where large numbers of people gather, on public and private transportation, in educational institutions, and at critical infrastructure facilities.
Another focus area is the introduction of mandatory training standards for pre-medical care. This includes, in particular, skills for stopping critical bleeding and providing first aid.
“Ukrtakmed” noted that the platform’s experts will prepare analyses and draft legislation, while lawmakers will work on reviewing them in committees and advancing them in the Verkhovna Rada.
