Black Flag Resynced received 5.5 out of 7 in a Dawn review
In Pakistan, Dawn published a review of Black Flag: Resynced, a reimagining of the 2013 game Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The author gave the new release 5.5 out of 7, calling it a more cohesive and refined experience that is nevertheless harmed by the quality of its new content.
The review was prepared on PlayStation 5. According to the publication, the game is also available on Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC. It costs $69.99 in the PlayStation Store and $59.99 on Steam.
Updated mechanics and graphics
Black Flag: Resynced retains the Caribbean setting, story and characters of the original, including protagonist Edward Kenway. At the same time, the game has received more detailed vegetation, textures and lighting. Matt Ryan once again voices Edward, and the game also features new character lines.
The author described the reworked combat system and parkour as the most noticeable changes. Combat is more focused on parrying and dodging, while the player can use special moves, including a kick and a sweep. At the same time, some features from the original were removed, including disarming enemies and using hidden blades in open combat.

Stealth and tailing missions no longer automatically end in failure after the protagonist is detected. This version also removes modern-day story episodes that transported the player from the historical Caribbean region to an office in modern Montreal.
Naval combat and weak new tasks
The naval combat system of the Jackdaw ship has generally remained close to the original, but received new weapons, including incendiary shot, a multi-shot mortar and incendiary broadside cannons. During boarding, killing officers or cutting down the flag are no longer mandatory objectives, although these actions lower the enemy crew’s morale.
The author noted that naval encounters may be difficult at the beginning of the game without regularly upgrading the Jackdaw. Other drawbacks include the absence of a minimap both while sailing and while moving through cities and using parkour.
The new quests, including officer recruitment tasks and Dark Animus missions, are described in the review as a weak part of the game because of repetitive stories and limited platforming. In the author’s view, the new release may be suitable for those who have not played the original, while owners of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag are advised to wait for a discount.
