Audit firm Ngozi Monica Okonkwo & Co leaves Cutix

Audit firm Ngozi Monica Okonkwo & Co has ceased serving as the external auditor of Nigerian wire and cable manufacturer Cutix Plc. Its resignation took effect on August 28, the day of the company’s 43rd annual general meeting of shareholders.

Resignation notice

As Premium Times Nigeria reports, Cutix received an official resignation notice from the auditors on July 24. The company disclosed the information in a regulatory notice signed by company secretary Chinwendu Nwokporo.

Cutix said that Ngozi Monica Okonkwo & Co’s decision resulted from a “strategic review of their audit portfolio.” The firm ceased serving after completing the audit for the financial year ended April 30, 2026.

Appointment of a replacement

Ngozi Monica Okonkwo & Co became Cutix’s external auditor in November 2020, replacing ANOC Professional Service, which also ceased serving at that time. Cutix manufactures electrical, automotive and telecommunications wires and cables.

Cutix’s board of directors acknowledged the auditors’ resignation and began the process of appointing a new external auditor. The appointment will require the necessary regulatory approvals and shareholder approval. The company said it would notify NGX of the appointment of the new auditor after the relevant procedures are completed.
