Fount Trust becomes IHC’s ultimate parent in the UAE — The National

International Holding Company (IHC), an investment company in Abu Dhabi, UAE, confirmed that Fount Trust has become its ultimate parent entity following a restructuring of the ownership of Royal Group Holding LLC. As The National reports, the change does not affect IHC’s ultimate beneficial ownership, operations, strategy, or business activities.

Ownership structure

Under the updated arrangement, Pal Group of Companies remains IHC’s majority shareholder, while Royal Group remains the majority shareholder of Pal Group. Fount Trust is positioned above Royal Group as the ultimate parent entity. Royal Group continues to exist and operate within the new ownership structure.

IHC said the reorganization changed the legal structure above Royal Group but did not change the individuals who ultimately own or control IHC. The company did not name its ultimate beneficial owner. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, the Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, remains chairman of IHC’s board of directors.

Long-term model

IHC chief executive Saeed Shueb said the establishment of Fount Trust creates a foundation for long-term governance, while Royal Group retains its role in the ownership structure. According to the company, the reorganization is intended to ensure continuity of ownership across generations without changing ultimate beneficial control.

Fount Trust was established in 2025 and had already appeared in the financial statements of companies in the wider IHC group. In particular, Two Point Zero Group, formerly known as Multiply Group, listed Fount Trust as its ultimate parent entity in its reporting for the previous year. It was also listed in the financial documents of Palms Sports and Emirates Stallions Group.

IHC has a market capitalization of about 840 billion dirhams, or $229 billion, and more than 1,300 subsidiaries in technology, infrastructure, financial services, and consumer businesses. The company stressed that the ownership structure change will not affect its corporate governance: IHC will continue to be managed by its board of directors and executive team, and it will remain subject to ADX requirements on reporting, disclosure, and corporate governance.
