The Supervisory Board has appointed a new head of Energoatom
The Supervisory Board of JSC “NAEK “Energoatom” has selected Yuriy Tkachuk, CEO of JSC “Ukrgazvydobuvannya,” as the winner of the competitive selection process for the position of chairman of the company’s management board. Pavlo Pavlyshyn, who headed the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant for ten years, was elected as a member of the Management Board responsible for nuclear safety and operations.
According to Rumina Velshi, Chair of the Supervisory Board, this separation of powers between general management and independent safety oversight is in line with international practices among leading nuclear power plant operators. The competitive selection process was conducted with the support of Korn Ferry: out of 78 applicants from Ukraine and around the world, nine candidates advanced to the final evaluation stage.
Prior to his appointment, Yuriy Tkachuk headed Ukrgazvydobuvannya, and before that, he served in management positions at Ukrnafta and NAK Naftogaz of Ukraine. In addition to leading the Rivne NPP, Pavlo Pavlyshyn previously served as acting president of Energoatom and headed Atomremontservice.

Energoatom’s supervisory board announced an independent audit following searches by NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) in the Midas case.
Pavlo Kovtonyuk, acting chairman of the board of JSC “NAEK “Energoatom,” earned 5.64 million hryvnias during his tenure.
