China-Malaysia trade exhibition opens in Kuala Lumpur — ECNS

The eighth Malaysia-China Trade Expo MCTE 2026 has opened in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, bringing together about 100 Chinese and nearly 50 Malaysian companies. The event is being held at the World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur and will last for three days, ECNS reports.

Manufacturing and new industries

The exhibition covers nearly 9,000 square meters. It features both traditional manufacturing sectors and new business segments.

This year, the organizers have for the first time created a dedicated zone for the pet products industry. It operates alongside the first Malaysia Pet Expo. The program also includes a business matching session for cross-border e-commerce and a forum dedicated to the development of this sector in Southeast Asia with the help of artificial intelligence.

Finding business partners

The organizers noted that since its founding in 2017, MCTE has evolved from a venue for showcasing goods into a platform for establishing business contacts.

Haji Irmohizam Ibrahim, a board member of the World Trade Center Association, said that the 2025 exhibition helped companies establish contacts with more than 3,000 potential clients and generated orders worth over 10 million ringgit, or about $2.5 million. According to him, more than 90% of exhibitors then reported tangible results from participating. The organizers plan to continue tracking the outcomes of business meetings and support Chinese companies’ entry into ASEAN markets.
