Naftogaz has reached an agreement to store fuel for Ukraine in Hungary
The Naftogaz Group has signed a memorandum with MOL regarding the construction of petroleum product storage facilities for Ukraine’s needs on Hungarian territory near the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. Serhiy Fedorenko, acting chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, announced this following the Carpathian Economic Forum held as part of the C8 Summit.
According to him, given Russia’s constant attacks on Ukraine’s fuel infrastructure, diversifying supply routes and creating additional storage capacity outside the shelling zone are critical to the stability of the entire market.
These facilities will enhance the reliability of fuel supplies to Ukrainian consumers and contribute to the development of cross-border energy infrastructure between Ukraine and Hungary. The agreement was one of a series of deals the group reached at the forum.
