Potato prices have risen in Ukraine: prices have increased by 15%
Prices for one of Ukraine’s staple vegetables—potatoes from the 2025 harvest—are rising. According to market data, producers are offering potatoes this week at a price of 6–12 UAH/kg, depending on quality, variety, and batch size. On average, this is 15% higher than at the end of last week.
EastFruit reports on this.
According to market operators, farmers are able to raise prices in this segment due to a seasonal reduction in supply amid stable demand.
At the same time, wholesale companies often complain about a shortage of high-quality potatoes from producers, which prevents them from forming sufficient volumes of commercial shipments.
Currently, last year’s potatoes in Ukraine are selling for nearly 60% less than during the same period last year.
At the same time, many market operators do not rule out further price increases for this product, as the proportion of substandard potatoes in the current season is quite high, and household stocks continue to decline rapidly.
