Thailand to halve visa-free stay for Finnish tourists
From September 15, Thailand will reduce the maximum visa-free stay for tourists from Finland to 30 days. The new rules will also apply to several other European Union countries.
New rules from September 15
Since 2024, Finnish tourists have been able to stay in Thailand without a visa for up to 60 days. Once the new rules take effect, this period will be 30 days.
Thailand has decided to update its visa policy. Information about the changes was published on its website by the Consular Department, which is subordinate to Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, YLE News writes.

Thai authorities' explanation
Reuters reported earlier, in May, on the upcoming reduction in the visa-free stay period. Thailand's Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow then explained the decision by the need to prevent criminal activity in the country.
