Yatsenko announced his readiness to run for mayor of Uman and shared his prediction for the election

People’s Deputy Anton Yatsenko stated that he is considering running for mayor of Uman once the war ends. At the same time, he is convinced that if he were to run in the election, he could win 70–80% of the vote.

According to Yatsenko, he is not currently among the likely candidates for mayor. He also stated that the approval rating of Uman’s current mayor, Iryna Pletnyova—which is being discussed on Telegram channels—is reportedly very low.

“If I run, I’ll get 70–80% of the vote—that’s obvious. People would vote for me, but I’m currently working in Kyiv,” said the MP.

Yatsenko said that he continues to visit his constituency, travels to Cherkasy, and communicates with the residents of Uman. According to him, city authorities are not cooperating with him, but the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, Ihor Taburets, does not prohibit regional institutions from accepting his assistance.

The MP also noted that residents of Uman have recently been asking him to run for mayor once the war ends. At the same time, he denied that his criticism of Pletnyova is motivated by a desire to take her position.

“It’s too much of an honor for Pletnyova if she thinks I’m criticizing her in order to take her place. That’s not her place,” Yatsenko stated.
