Norway approves $8.2 billion in aid to Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Norway’s decision to approve large-scale support for the next year will significantly strengthen Ukraine’s ability to resist Russian aggression.
The head of state wrote on X that the Norwegian parliament decided to allocate $8.2 billion in aid to Ukraine for 2026.
Zelensky thanked Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, the Norwegian parliament, and the entire Norwegian people for their support, emphasizing that Ukraine highly values Norway’s long-term military and humanitarian assistance.
The president highlighted that such support is an example of true leadership, strategic reliability, and commitment of allies. It strengthens Ukraine’s defensive capabilities and sends a clear signal to the Kremlin about the steadfastness of international support.
Zelensky also noted that each such decision undermines Russia’s attempts to impose an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty on Europe.
Additionally, President Zelensky expressed gratitude to European Union leaders for their decision to provide Ukraine with €90 billion in financial support for 2026–2027.
