Greens received nearly 27% in a reader survey in Sweden — The Local Sweden
In Sweden, readers of the English-language outlet The Local Sweden who took part in its survey on voting in the election supported the Green Party more often than voters overall. More than 100 people took part in the survey; all but two said they had moved to Sweden from another country.
The outlet stressed that the survey is not representative. The Social Democrats were the most popular among respondents: just over 28% of participants voted for them, which almost corresponds to the party's result among all voters.
Differences from the election results
Nearly 27% of survey participants supported the Green Party, while it received 6.12% in the election overall. The Left Party received 17% of respondents' votes, compared with 8.4% among all voters.
At the same time, the Moderate Party was supported by 7.6% of surveyed readers, although nearly 20% of voters cast their ballots for it in the election. The Centre Party received votes from 10.5% of respondents, compared with 7% overall. Three survey participants each chose the Christian Democrats and the Liberal Party, while five chose the Sweden Democrats.

Reasons for choosing parties
Respondents who voted for the Greens cited the party's climate policy and its support for people born outside Sweden as reasons. Some also noted the Greens' position on transitional rules in the new citizenship legislation.
Supporters of the Left Party referred to its approach to policy on asylum seekers, taxation of wealthy citizens, and proposals in housing, schools and transport. Centre Party voters emphasized the combination of a more open approach to immigration with centre-right economic policy.
Respondents who supported the Moderate Party cited fighting crime, lower taxes, fuel prices and reduced social benefits as priorities. Supporters of the Sweden Democrats spoke of tougher immigration policy, lower taxes, order and adherence to rules.
