In a letter to the MarketWatch column, the author said that they and their husband pay for the husband's brother's food and drinks every time they go out together. According to the author, this happens even when the husband's brother and his wife invite them to meet.
Dispute over shared expenses
The letter's author called the husband's brother a good and sweet person, but noted that since his second marriage, he has constantly had no money. In the author's view, the husband's brother's second wife is responsible for this. The letter also says that both have stable jobs in public services.

The author also reported that they pay for the relatives' daughter's food and drinks, although she usually does not eat even half of her meal. In one case, the mother and daughter ordered the two most expensive desserts, at about $16 each. According to the author, they ate half of one dessert and left the other.
