ECNS reports on John Ternus’s Weibo account
ECNS reported that John Ternus created an official account on the Chinese social network Weibo. According to the outlet, he registered on the platform late on Tuesday evening.
ECNS also claims that Ternus had shortly before replaced Tim Cook as Apple’s chief executive officer. Before the appointment, he headed the company’s hardware engineering division, the outlet notes.
Number of followers
As of Wednesday morning local time, around 24,000 users had subscribed to Ternus’s page, ECNS reported. The outlet noted that the account gained more than 20,000 followers within several hours of appearing.

In his first post, Ternus published a short greeting, “Hello,” in English and Chinese.
First actions on the platform
According to ECNS, among Ternus’s first actions on Weibo was following Tim Cook and Isabel Ge Mahe, also known as Ge Yue. She is an Apple vice president and the company’s managing director for Greater China.
