Former Russian player Putintseva was eliminated from Roland Garros
Kazakhstani tennis player Yulia Putintseva suffered a defeat in a tense second-round match at the 2026 French Open at Roland Garros.
The athlete, who previously represented Russia, lost in three sets to Colombia’s Camila Osorio.
During the match, Kazakhstan’s No. 2 player reacted with extreme agitation and emotion to the umpire’s calls.
The main controversy of the match erupted during the decisive tiebreak in the second set.
The chair umpire decided to personally inspect the controversial ball mark on the baseline and ruled against the Kazakhstani player.

Upon hearing the verdict, Putintseva literally lost her composure, began arguing loudly with the umpire, and threw her racket onto the court with all her might.
