Osnabrück fans created a functioning roller coaster in the stands
Supporters of German second-division club Osnabrück created a functioning roller coaster in the stands of the Bremer Brücke stadium ahead of their German Cup match against Bayern Munich. At the 16,100-capacity venue, they assembled a track from separate sections and a cart with mannequin passengers.
The cart was repeatedly pulled along the track. After it passed a flashing camera, a banner with a “photo” was displayed in a neighboring section of the stands. The fans called the installation Funpark Bremer Brücke and placed the inscription next to it: “VfL Osnabrück — a roller-coaster ride!”.
The club’s ups and downs
As ABC News Australia reports, the performance was meant to symbolize the club’s ups and downs. Osnabrück has just returned to the second Bundesliga after five years in the third division and has a reputation as a team that moves between divisions.

The roller-coaster theme continued during the first-round German Cup match. The hosts unexpectedly took the lead in the fifth minute after Robin Meissner scored from about 30 yards. However, Bayern, the reigning trophy holders, responded with four goals: Harry Kane scored twice, while Tom Bischof and Michael Olise also found the net. The Munich club advanced to the second round of the tournament.
The tifo tradition
Tifos are large-scale visual performances that fans usually display before important matches. The name comes from the Italian word tifosi, meaning “supporters.” Such displays originated in Italy, while Germany has become one of the centers for increasingly elaborate fan productions in recent years.
Bayern is also known for large-scale choreographies at its home Allianz Arena. Osnabrück’s tifo stood out because of the moving cart, which fans pulled along the track beside the stands.
