Ferran Torres gives PSG their first win of the Ligue 1 season
In Brest, France, Paris Saint-Germain secured their first win of the Ligue 1 season, beating Brest 1-0. The only goal was scored in the fifth minute by Parisian newcomer Ferran Torres.
As Dawn reports, Luis Enrique's team had collected only two points from their first three league matches before travelling to Brittany. The win lifted PSG to eighth place in the table, level on points with Brest, who had been unbeaten before this game.
Torres goal and Hakimi substitution
In the fifth minute, Ousmane Dembele played Torres through, and the Spaniard struck into the bottom corner of Egil Selvik's goal from outside the penalty area. It was the 26-year-old player's sixth goal in five matches for PSG in all competitions.
Torres said that the most important thing for him is helping the team regardless of the amount of playing time determined by the coach, including through goals, assists or work on the pitch.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could have extended the visitors' lead in the first half. At the same time, PSG defender and Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi left the pitch before the break due to an injury, with midfielder Fabian Ruiz coming on in his place.
Brest chances
The hosts came close to an equaliser early in the second half. After Nuno Mendes carelessly gave the ball away, Kamory Doumbia hit the post when one-on-one with goalkeeper Matvey Safonov. Soon afterward, the ball ended up in Brest's net, but the goal was disallowed because of a push by Warren Zaire-Emery that led to an own goal.
Late in the match, Safonov saved PSG after a shot from Pathe Mboup, pushing the ball beyond the far post. Before the match, Brest honoured the memory of their former coach Eric Roy, who died in June at the age of 58. He had pancreatic cancer.
Other matches of the round
Lille beat Troyes 2-0 and moved into first place in Ligue 1 on goal difference, ahead of Monaco and Rennes. The second goal in stoppage time was scored by 19-year-old substitute Ethan Mbappe. Lens drew 2-2 with newly promoted Le Mans and, after four matches, have four points and sit in tenth place.
