Katie Taylor ends career with victory in Dublin
Irish boxer Katie Taylor ended her professional career with a unanimous decision victory over France's Flora Pili in Dublin, Ireland. As Channel NewsAsia reports, the bout took place on September 5 at Croke Park Stadium in front of 83,000 spectators.
Judges' decision
Two judges awarded Taylor all ten rounds by a score of 100:90, while the third scored the fight 98:91. The 40-year-old Taylor ended her career with a professional record of 26-1.
After the bout, the Irishwoman remained the holder of the WBO, WBA, WBC, IBO and IBF light welterweight belts. For the 29-year-old Pili, the defeat was her first in 13 fights.

Farewell at Croke Park
After the victory, Taylor said she did not know of another country where 80,000 tickets could be sold for such an event. She stepped into the ring for the final time at the stadium she calls “the cathedral of Irish sport.”
Before Taylor entered the ring, the stands greeted her with loud applause, while fireworks lit up the night sky. Earlier, Irish band Westlife performed for the spectators. Taylor is also the 2012 Olympic champion.
