Shooting Stars beat CS Sfaxien in first CAF Confederation Cup match

In Nigeria, Ibadan football club Shooting Stars defeated Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien 1-0 in the first CAF Confederation Cup match. The game took place on Saturday at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta.

Emmanuel’s goal

Lucky Emmanuel scored the only goal in the 25th minute. He put the Nigerian team ahead before the break, Premium Times Nigeria reports.

Pressure after the break

In the second half, CS Sfaxien became more active and increased the pressure on Shooting Stars in an attempt to equalize. The Nigerian club’s goalkeeper kept a clean sheet, while the team’s defense prevented the opponents from finding a way to goal.

Toward the end of the match, Shooting Stars had opportunities to extend their lead but did not convert them. The 1-0 victory gave the Ibadan club an advantage ahead of the return match scheduled for next weekend.
