Lens lose at home to Lorient in Ligue 1
French side Lens suffered a 0-1 home defeat to Lorient in a Ligue 1 match in Lens. It was the team's second consecutive league defeat, while Lorient claimed their first win of the season, Channel NewsAsia reports, citing Reuters.
Koné's goal and Sagnan's sending-off
The only goal was scored by 19-year-old Mamadou Koné, for whom it was his first goal in Ligue 1. Lens lost the ball in midfield, after which Noah Mbamba passed to Panos Katseris. He delivered a low cross from the right flank, and Koné directed the ball into the net from close range.
Lorient goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo saved his team several times, preserving the visitors' narrow lead. Late in the game, Lens were reduced to 10 men as defender Souleymane Sagnan received a second yellow card. After the match, the home fans booed the team.

Coach's reaction
Lens coach Dino Toppmöller said that the team spent a lot of time in the opponents' half, won corners and created chances, but needed to be more efficient in finishing attacks. According to him, the team tried to do everything possible at the end of the match, and he is not going to criticize the fans.
