Mariota's injury
The turning point was an injury to Washington quarterback Marcus Mariota. He left the game after being tackled by an opponent on the play preceding the team's second field goal.
Mariota was replaced by third quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis, a seventh-round draft pick. The rookie completed his first NFL touchdown pass: Treylon Burks caught the 47-yard pass. However, Kaliakmanis was unable to lead the Commanders to victory.
Next week, the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars will play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. On October 18, the Jaguars will face the Houston Texans at London's Wembley Stadium.
