Lunin will miss Real Madrid's match against Oviedo due to an infection

Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin was not included in Real Madrid’s roster for their La Liga Matchday 36 clash against Oviedo. The goalkeeper’s absence was due to a viral infection, which caused him to miss the team’s final training session.

Amid Lunin’s illness, star forward Kylian Mbappé has returned to the “Whites” lineup, having recovered from an injury and ready to take the field. This was reported by “Glavkom” with reference to the Madrid club’s press service.

This season, Lunin has played 12 matches for Real Madrid, but after Thibaut Courtois returned to the lineup, he once again became the coaching staff’s second choice. Andriy last started regularly during the spring portion of the championship. The Ukrainian is expected to rejoin the main squad after his recovery, but for now, other graduates of the Madrid academy have taken his place in the roster.

As a reminder, Villarreal has once again expressed interest in Real Madrid’s Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. The Madrid club is willing to consider selling the 26-year-old keeper only under two conditions: if there is a high offer and if Lunin himself wants to change teams.
