Maccabi Tel Aviv open Israeli season with four wins
Maccabi Tel Aviv football club in Israel have won all four opening matches of the season and lead the standings with 12 points. Kenny Miller’s team has beaten Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Be’er Sheva and Hapoel Tel Aviv, whom they defeated 4:1 in the derby at Bloomfield Stadium, The Jerusalem Post reports.
Victory in the Tel Aviv derby
In the match against Hapoel, Maccabi led 2:1 for a long time before sealing the victory with two late goals. Hapoel player Stav Turiel was sent off after receiving a second yellow card. Hapoel head coach Elyaniv Barda did not criticize the referees, saying that Turiel could have avoided both cautions.
Maccabi’s next match will be away against Maccabi Netanya on Saturday. If they win, the Tel Aviv team will enter the international break with five wins from five matches. Maccabi Netanya previously lost 0:2 to league newcomers Hapoel Ramat Gan.

Kanichowsky’s return and squad changes
