The lone and winning goal of the match was scored in the 30th minute by Bohdan Olychenko, who made a solo run and fired a shot from inside the penalty area into the top right corner of the opponent’s goal. The Italians were unable to mount a comeback before the final whistle, losing the match and their chance to advance to the tournament’s knockout stage, which was taking place simultaneously with other games.
