Noskova to focus on every match at the US Open

Czech tennis player Linda Noskova said ahead of the US Open that she does not associate her Wimbledon victory with additional confidence for the upcoming tournament. In the first round of the US Open, sixth seed Noskova will play American Katie Volynets.

Approach to the new tournament

As Channel NewsAsia reports, the 21-year-old Noskova told journalists that she approaches every tournament with a new mindset. According to her, it is important for her to focus on every match as if there had been neither successes nor failures before it.

Noskova won her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon. In the grass-court major final, she defeated compatriot Karolina Muchova despite five missed match points. This victory made her the third Czech tennis player to win Wimbledon in four years.

New experience after Wimbledon

The tennis player noted that she is still getting used to the status of a Grand Slam champion. At the same time, she said this success convinced her that she is capable of going the distance and winning such trophies.

After her Wimbledon triumph, Noskova met with Czech President Petr Pavel. She also recalled a reception in her hometown, which, according to her, was attended by about 3,000 people who watched the match.

US Open draw

Noskova was placed in the top half of the US Open draw, which will also feature defending champion Aryna Sabalenka and third seed Jessica Pegula.
