Son Heung-min scores and assists in LAFC draw in the United States
LAFC drew 2-2 with Real Salt Lake in a match in Sandy, Utah, United States. Son Heung-min recorded a goal and an assist, Korea Herald reports.
Son’s goal and assist
LAFC started the match in a 3-4-3 formation, with Son Heung-min and Denis Bouanga operating closer to each other in attack. They were involved in both of the team’s goals at America First Field.
In the 14th minute, Son Heung-min dropped deeper toward midfield and played a left-footed pass behind the defenders. Bouanga broke through from the left flank and opened the scoring with a curling right-footed shot. Four minutes later, Saba Lobjanidze equalized for Real Salt Lake.

In the 38th minute, LAFC took the lead again. Bouanga advanced down the left flank, passed the ball back, and Son Heung-min scored with his left foot in one touch.
Real Salt Lake’s response
LAFC failed to hold onto its 2-1 lead after the first half. In the 75th minute, Noel Caliskan equalized. In the 87th minute, Son Heung-min dribbled past the goalkeeper and could have put LAFC ahead again, but his shot was blocked by a defender.
The match ended Son Heung-min’s run of seven games without a goal or assist. His previous goal contribution came against the Vancouver Whitecaps on August 1. In its last eight matches, LAFC has recorded one win, five draws and two defeats.
