A silver medalist at the European Wrestling Championships illegally visited occupied Crimea

Russian wrestler Ruslan Bichurin, a silver medalist at the European Championships, illegally visited the temporarily occupied Crimea. The athlete’s trip to the Ukrainian peninsula violated established border-crossing procedures.

 

Specifically, Bichurin was in the annexed city of Alushta. He posted videos of his visit on his Instagram profile.

Bichurin entered the occupied peninsula without undergoing customs and border control, as required by Ukrainian law. By his actions, the Russian violated Ukrainian law.

Ruslan Bichurin won a silver medal at the 2024 European Wrestling Championships. He also won a gold medal at the 2024 Russian Championships.

In 2026, Bichurin took silver at the Russian Championships, according to Glavkom.
