Germany national team coach Klopp promises a new approach — The Local Germany
In Germany, national team coach Jürgen Klopp said he intends to apply a “new approach” to improve the team’s results ahead of the start of the Nations League. Klopp’s first match in charge of the national team will be an away game against the Netherlands in Amsterdam, The Local Germany reports.
In a video address to supporters, the former Liverpool manager called himself the team’s new leader and thanked fans for their support from different countries. Klopp said the team would try to make the new approach noticeable as quickly as possible. According to him, the play may be somewhat chaotic, but it must remain lively.
Klopp’s first matches
After the meeting with the Netherlands, Klopp will oversee his first home match as Germany national team coach on September 27 in Augsburg against Greece. Four days later, the German team will host Serbia and will conclude its first international cycle under Klopp with a match in Thessaloniki the following Sunday.

Germany, a four-time world champion, has not yet won the Nations League. Since 2016, the team has won only one playoff match at World Cups and European Championships.
Updated squad
Klopp announced a squad of 44 footballers, including 16 players without appearances for the national team. They are to be divided into two groups for the matches. Deniz Undav was not included in the squad.
Among the newcomers are 25-year-old Freiburg right-back Philipp Treu and Eintracht forward Younes Ebnoutalib. Treu said that footballers are ready to go through fire for Klopp. Ebnoutalib, who was born in Frankfurt, called the coach one of the best in the world and noted his positive energy. Klopp previously worked at Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool.
