Spain denied visas to members of the Russian national bodybuilding team ahead of the European Championships
The Russian national bodybuilding team will not be able to compete with a full roster at the European Championships, which will take place in Spain from May 1 to 3, 2026.
According to the Russian Bodybuilding Federation, some of the athletes were unable to obtain entry visas.
Of the 44 members of the national team, only 31 athletes made it to the competition venue in Santa Susanna. Another 13 participants were unable to travel due to the denial of Schengen visas.
The federation notes that some athletes were denied visas a second time, despite submitting their documents well in advance.
The European Bodybuilding Championship is one of the main events of the season for national teams.
