Zinedine Zidane to Take Over as France Coach Following Deschamps' Departure — Romano
Former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane will become the new head coach of the French national team following Didier Deschamps’ departure.
According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the decision has already been made, and the official signing of the contract is expected by the end of July. It is reported that Zidane has already assembled his own coaching staff.
According to Romano, the contract will run through the 2030 World Cup, allowing the new coach to oversee a full cycle of the team’s preparation for the tournament.
For Zidane, this will be his first coaching position since leaving Real Madrid in 2021. During his time at the Spanish club, he won the Champions League three times in a row and claimed the Spanish league title twice.
