ByteDance releases open-source DeerFlow, a groundbreaking AI super-agent
ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, has unveiled the open-source code for its innovative AI super-agent called DeerFlow. This artificial intelligence assistant conducts in-depth research with source citations, writes code, builds websites and applications, generates presentations, images, and videos, runs Python scripts and bash commands, and coordinates sub-agents to handle different parts of complex tasks simultaneously.
DeerFlow breaks down large assignments into smaller subtasks, delegating them to specialized agents. For instance, when given a command like "Analyze the top 10 AI startups of 2026 and create a presentation," one agent studies the companies while another collects competitor analytics. All the findings are merged by the main agent into a polished, visually rich presentation.
With DeerFlow’s code now open to the public, developers can explore, customize, and enhance this powerful tool, potentially transforming the future of automated research and creative workflows.
