Instagram now lets you reorder posts in your profile grid

Instagram has added a new feature that allows users to reorder posts in their profile grid regardless of when they were posted. Users can now drag and drop posts to arrange them in any order they like using a special option in their profile settings.

The update allows users to better shape the visual aesthetic of their page and customize the look of their feed.

The feature has appeared in the Meta-owned app and became available after a long wait—almost a year after Instagram head Adam Mosseri first announced its introduction.

As noted by USA Today, starting today, users around the world will be able to reorder posts regardless of their publication date.

“We know this has been a long time coming, but we wanted to take the time to get it right,” a Meta spokesperson told the publication.

The ability to reorder the Instagram grid remains one of the most anticipated features in the app, and Meta had been planning its rollout long before Mosseri announced it last year. Alessandro Paluzzi, known for reverse-engineering apps and finding unannounced features, discovered the “edit grid” option in the Instagram app back in 2022.

If you’re tired of the chronological order of your posts and want to rearrange them, just go to your profile and long-press any post. Along with the "Pin to Top" and "Archive" buttons, you’ll now see the "Rearrange Grid" option. Tap it to open a new window where you can drag and drop posts and rearrange your content until your profile looks exactly the way you want it to. Please note: any pinned post will remain at the top of your profile and will be dimmed in the "Reorder Grid" window, the announcement states.

This was reported by Engadget.

Instagram will disable end-to-end encryption for private messages starting May 8, 2026.
