Facebook and Instagram users around the world are reporting widespread issues with the platforms. The social media platforms have experienced an outage.
It is reported that 3,600 users reported issues with these platforms via Downdetector, a service that monitors the status of online platforms and reports outages in real time.
The issue with Facebook peaked at 1:00 p.m. Thousands of users reported problems logging in, as well as issues with the app and website.
Similarly, Instagram users complained about app performance and server connectivity.
Users received messages stating that their accounts were “unavailable due to a problem with the site.”
It is currently unclear when the issues for both platforms will be resolved.
