Nvidia forecasts quarterly revenue of $108 billion

Nvidia forecasts that its quarterly revenue will reach $108 billion over the coming months. In the previous quarter, the chipmaker recorded a record $96.2 billion in revenue — more than $10 billion higher than in the quarter before.

Data center revenue

As The Verge reports, Nvidia's revenue from its data center business more than doubled year over year and reached a record $89 billion. The company's profit also more than doubled, to $59.7 billion.

If Nvidia's forecast comes true, the company will join the list of corporations with quarterly revenue exceeding $100 billion. Amazon, Apple, and Alphabet have previously reached this figure multiple times.

Consumer product sales

Nvidia's "edge computing" category, which includes the company's consumer gaming business, generated $7.2 billion during the quarter. This is 27% more than a year earlier.

At the same time, Nvidia reported slower sales of consumer PCs, which were held back by high prices for memory and systems. Component shortages continue to drive up prices for Nvidia consumer graphics processors. The company also warned of rising prices for its artificial intelligence chips.
