Rabbit launches AI agent OS3 for Windows, Mac and Linux — The Verge

Rabbit is launching a standalone AI agent, OS3, which can be used without the R1 device. The system works on Windows, Mac and Linux devices, The Verge reports.

Rabbit calls OS3 an “agentic operating system.” According to the startup, the system operates in the cloud but performs operations locally on Windows, Mac and Linux devices.

Up to five devices and selected artificial intelligence models can be added to one account. Rabbit claims that OS3 will independently determine which devices, files, apps and AI models are needed to complete a task.

OS3 can be accessed through a dedicated computer website, a connected messenger such as Telegram or iMessage, as well as through the Rabbit R1 device.

R1 production discontinued

Rabbit founder Jesse Lyu told Wired that the startup has stopped producing R1 devices. At the same time, the company is not abandoning AI hardware and is focusing on a new “cyberdeck” for vibe-coding that will work with OS3. According to Wired, it is planned to launch within a few months.

Rabbit states that OS3 will not store, copy, use or sell user data. At the same time, chats and memories created based on them will be stored on the company’s servers. Third-party AI providers connected to OS3 will process data under their own privacy rules.
