The main changes in the new iPhone Air 2 have been revealed
Apple is already working on the second generation of the ultra-thin iPhone Air, and new leaks point to five notable improvements in the upcoming smartphone. Among the key innovations are a dual camera, a more compact Dynamic Island, and longer battery life.
According to preliminary information, the iPhone Air 2 will feature a more energy-efficient A20 Pro processor, which should ensure longer battery life. A number of other changes are also expected, which will make the new model even thinner and more powerful.
The main innovation will be a dual main camera. The updated device will feature an ultra-wide-angle 48-megapixel lens in addition to the standard one. As a result, the iPhone Air 2 will come closer in camera capabilities to the base models of the iPhone lineup.
Another notable change will be the smaller Dynamic Island cutout. According to insider information, Apple has managed to make this element 30% more compact, which will slightly increase the usable screen area.
The new A20 Pro chip, manufactured using TSMC’s 2-nm process, will power this ultra-thin smartphone. It is expected to deliver not only a performance boost but also improved energy efficiency, which will positively impact battery life.
The company is also expected to introduce its second-generation proprietary chips—the C2 5G modem and the N2 wireless controller with support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. This should ensure more stable connectivity and improve the device’s energy efficiency.
Finally, according to insiders, the iPhone Air 2’s display will increase to 6.55 inches. In addition to the slightly larger screen size, it is rumored to feature an LTPO OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
