Slack to add AI-powered creation of interactive reports in chats — The Verge
Slack is preparing the Slackforce Surfaces feature, which will make it possible to create interactive reports, polls, dashboards, presentations, microsites, and other tools directly in chats. Users will only need to describe the desired result to Slackbot, after which AI will gather information from relevant conversations and connected apps, including Google Drive or Salesforce, The Verge reports.
Tools within the workspace
Once created, a Surface can be shared with colleagues and pinned in a channel. Other participants will be able to view and interact with such material, as well as leave comments.
As an example, Slack demonstrated a request to create an arcade-style visualization of AI token usage. Slackbot generated an interactive dashboard showing token usage by different departments, including sales, design, and engineering.

Data access and launch
According to Slack Chief Marketing Officer Ryan Gavin, users will not need to export data to a third-party service to create a dashboard, presentation, or report. The team will be able to work with them in the same space where the discussion takes place.
The feature can also be used to create a support request queue dashboard or a financial forecast using data from connected apps. Slack notes that AI will receive only the data to which the user has granted it access.
Slackforce Surfaces will be available to all Slack customers, including users of the free plan, if Slackbot is enabled in their workspace. Real-time data work is expected to become available in October.
