TechCrunch reveals Founder Summit agenda in Boston

TechCrunch has revealed the agenda for the one-day Founder Summit, which will take place on November 4 at the SoWa Power Station venue in Boston. The event will focus on fundraising, hiring, artificial intelligence adoption strategies, and startup development.

Investment and management

Underscore partner Brian Devaney will discuss what investors are looking for now, how founders can stand out in a competitive market, and under what circumstances they may lose negotiating leverage. The session will also cover initial investments, aligning deal terms, and mistakes that can affect the outcome of a funding round.

HubSpot co-founder and Sequoia partner Brian Halligan will share his experience of building and advising startups. He will examine how the CEO role changes at different stages of a company's growth, as well as common management mistakes.

Cogent Security co-founder and CEO Vinet Edupuganti, whose company raised $11 million, will speak about choosing investors and factors to consider beyond a business valuation. Bessemer Venture Partners partner Kent Bennett will address demand validation, building a minimum viable product, and signs of achieving product-market fit.

NEA partner Melissa Taunton will lead a session on early hiring, shaping startup culture, and common recruiting mistakes. TDK Ventures investment director Tina Tosukhowong will present the “King of the Hill” approach to evaluating companies by economic indicators, scalability, and time to market.

HqO co-founder and CEO Chase Garbarino, who raised $200 million and expanded the company's operations to more than 30 countries, will discuss the advantages and limitations of growing a business outside major startup hubs. In addition to the sessions, participants will be able to network with other founders and investors.
