Ukraine is developing aerobikes and aerobuggies to quickly transport troops to their positions

Work is beginning in Ukraine on the development of flying motorcycles (aerobikes) and aerobuggies for the Defense Forces. This cutting-edge transportation is designed to ensure the fastest and most stealthy deployment of troops to the front lines, offering an alternative to traditional methods of transporting infantry on foot or in armored vehicles.

This was announced on July 1 by Andriy Hrytsenyuk, head of the Brave1 defense cluster, during a briefing. The launch and funding of these high-tech projects are planned to be carried out through the Brave1 grant system.

Hrytsenyuk noted that the possibility of creating remotely controlled models is being considered: after the aerobike delivers troops to their destination, it will be able to return to its starting point on its own, without a pilot. Such technologies will be useful both for rapidly reinforcing positions and for carrying out specific scenarios during special operations.

Similar concepts are already being actively developed around the world:

  • Volonaut Airbike (Poland): an airbike with a jet propulsion system consisting of five engines. Its body is made of carbon fiber, making the vehicle seven times lighter than a conventional motorcycle, and its maximum speed reaches 200 km/h. Flight stability is maintained by an onboard computer.

  • Jetson ONE (Sweden): a single-seat, piloted electric multicopter. It features a lightweight aluminum-carbon-fiber frame and eight electric motors. The aircraft is designed to be easy to fly, even without special piloting skills.

This was reported by the publication Military.

Previously, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified and approved the “Nebokray” mobile workshops for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The system is designed for the repair and maintenance of drones.

The Ministry of Defense has codified and approved the use of the new “General Chereshnya” unmanned FPV aerial system within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
