In China, Run Robotics unveiled the world’s first centaur robot, which combines a wheeled chassis with a humanoid upper body. The robot was presented at the WAIC 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai.

The robot is equipped with artificial intelligence and is designed to operate in challenging environments. It can be used for fighting wildfires, emergency rescue operations, and inspecting industrial facilities, oil fields, and mining operations.

According to the developers, the machine can carry up to 120 kg of cargo, withstand a static load of up to 210 kg, and navigate rough terrain autonomously. Thanks to its cameras and sensors, the robot can recognize people, pipelines, valves, pressure gauges, and other objects, and can plan its own route.

The company noted that it has already received its first orders from industrial enterprises.
