2 million Ukrainians have taken advantage of fuel cashback

As of March 20, approximately 2 million Ukrainians have already taken advantage of the fuel cashback program. The vast majority of participants are owners of mass-market vehicles.

This was reported with reference to a statement by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to her, over 91% of program participants are owners of mass-market cars.

Among the most popular are the Volkswagen Passat and Golf, Renault Megane, Skoda Octavia and Fabia, Ford Focus, Daewoo Lanos, as well as VAZ cars.

As the head of government clarified, most vehicles are 10–20 years old, and over 80% are equipped with engines up to 2.5 liters in displacement.

Under the program, the government will reimburse a portion of fuel costs: up to 15% for diesel, 10% for gasoline, and 5% for natural gas. The maximum cashback amount is up to 1,000 UAH per month.

Ukrainians can use the funds received to pay for utilities and postal services, purchase medicines, books, or Ukrainian-made products.

According to the prime minister, on average, 70% of the cashback is used specifically to pay for utility bills.

In total, over 4.5 million Ukrainians are currently using the "National Cashback" program.

The Ministry of Economyhas announced when the January cashback will be distributed.

The Ministry of Economy explained whether the "National Cashback" program will continue in July.
