Part of Chernihiv is without power due to an outage
On the evening of Tuesday, April 14, more than 4,300 customers in the northern part of Chernihiv were left without power due to damage to a power line.
This was reported by Chernihivoblenergo JSC.
Currently, power crews have already begun repair work to quickly restore power to the affected areas. The network failure occurred amid general strain on the power grid due to the threat of new attacks by the Russian Federation. Power company officials are urging residents to remain calm and reminding them of the need to conserve electricity once power is restored. The circumstances surrounding the cable damage are currently being investigated. The completion date for the repairs will be announced later on the regional power company’s official channels.
As a reminder, Ukraine will need nearly $91 billion over the next ten years to fully restore the energy sector.
Energy Minister Shmyhal discussed $1.4 billion in aid from the U.S. for energy sector recovery.
