Due to the Dniester River's low water levels, Khotyn has been left without a centralized water supply

The city of Khotyn in the Chernivtsi region has been without a centralized water supply for several days due to the Dniester River reaching critically low levels.

According to Mayor Andriy Dranchuk, in the last week alone, the water has receded another 15 meters from the shore, and by approximately 120 meters in total. As a result, the operation of the city’s water intake facility has become significantly more difficult.

Currently, utility services are working to fill the reservoirs and stabilize the water utility’s operations. If the necessary water level can be reached, the centralized water supply is expected to be restored around July 1.
