Former Economy Minister Sobolev Joins the Office of the President
Former Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev will continue his work at the Office of the President. He will be responsible for economic policy, coordination with the government, parliament, and the business community, as well as for implementing agreements with international partners.
Former Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev will join the team at the Office of the President. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who explained that Sobolev’s new role will focus on economic development, supporting Ukrainian businesses, and coordinating economic decisions. According to the president, the appointment has already been agreed upon with the head of the Office of the President. Specific tasks have been assigned to Sobolev, covering both domestic economic policy and Ukraine’s cooperation with international partners.
One of the main focuses of his work will be supporting Ukrainian manufacturers. As Zelenskyy emphasized, the state must create conditions under which Ukrainian businesses can operate, grow, and receive the necessary assistance. “The key is to support Ukrainian producers at all levels of government and to fully and as quickly as possible implement agreements with partners,” the president noted.
Sobolev will also coordinate issues related to the implementation of economic agreements that Ukraine reaches with its international partners. These include recovery projects, investments, cooperation with financial institutions, and the implementation of programs to support the Ukrainian economy.
The President emphasized that Oleksiy Sobolev’s experience enables him not only to work on developing economic solutions but also to facilitate coordination among the various branches of government. In particular, he will help coordinate the work of the Office of the President with the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada so that necessary decisions are made more quickly and effectively.
A separate focus of his work will be ongoing dialogue between the government and the business community. According to Zelenskyy, Sobolev will work to ensure that entrepreneurs can more promptly convey their proposals and concerns to government agencies, and that government bodies can respond more quickly to requests from the business community. “A separate focus will be on ongoing communication between government institutions and the business community within the frameworks established by the Office of the President,” the head of state said.
It is expected that this new position will allow Sobolev to focus specifically on strategic economic issues. His work will include supporting Ukrainian manufacturing, improving coordination between government agencies and the business community, and overseeing the implementation of key international economic agreements.
Thus, following his tenure in the government, Oleksiy Sobolev will continue to work on economic issues as part of the President’s Office team. The main focus will be on economic development, supporting entrepreneurship, and strengthening Ukraine’s cooperation with international partners. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
