Estonia Responded to Russia's Threats Regarding Diplomats in Kyiv

The Estonian Embassy continues to operate in Kyiv, despite threats from Russia against foreign diplomats. The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that its support for Ukraine remains unchanged. It also emphasized that Russian pressure will not alter Tallinn’s position.

Estonia has no plans to leave Kyiv and continues to operate its embassy in the Ukrainian capital. The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to Russia’s threats against foreign diplomats working in Kyiv. The ministry stated that Moscow is attempting to intimidate representatives of other countries and thereby influence their support for Ukraine. “Russia is trying to intimidate foreign diplomats in Kyiv and undermine support for Ukraine. This will not work. The Estonian Embassy remains in Kyiv, and our support for Ukraine remains unwavering,” the Estonian Foreign Ministry emphasized.

The ministry also stated that Russian threats have not forced Estonia to change its policy toward Ukraine. On the contrary, officials in Tallinn believe that such actions only strengthen the country’s resolve to continue supporting Kyiv. The Estonian Foreign Ministry added that it will continue to exert pressure on Russia together with its partners. This includes, in particular, continued support for Ukraine and measures against Russia.

Estonia remains one of Ukraine’s most consistent European partners. According to the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country continues to provide Ukraine with military, civilian, and humanitarian aid, and supports its accession to the European Union and NATO.

Separately, Tallinn emphasizes the importance of maintaining the operations of its diplomatic missions in Kyiv. On the official website of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassy in the Ukrainian capital is listed as the country’s active diplomatic mission.

Thus, Estonia has no plans to suspend the operations of its embassy in Kyiv due to Russian threats. Officials in Tallinn make it clear that pressure from Moscow will not alter their support for Ukraine. This was stated by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Poland has no plans to change the operating procedures of its embassy in Kyiv despite new threats from Russia and calls for foreign diplomats to leave the Ukrainian capital. The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that such actions will not force Warsaw to weaken its support for Ukraine.

Diplomats from European Union countries continue to work in Kyiv, despite Russia’s calls for them to leave the Ukrainian capital. EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Maternova stated that the EU Delegation and the embassies of member states are continuing their work while stepping up security measures for their staff.
