A Kyiv woman who evaded mobilization will pay a hefty fine
In Kyiv, a verdict was handed down against the director of Sky Service Plus LLC, who attempted to profit from illegally booking and removing men from the wanted list.
According to the court’s decision, the defendant must pay a fine of 799,000 UAH, which effectively corresponds to the amount of the bribe on which law enforcement officials caught her.
According to the case file, the corruption scheme began in May 2025 with a chance encounter at one of the capital’s shopping malls.
The defendant assured a private entrepreneur that she had connections with officials capable of resolving issues related to military registration.
The woman offered services to secure exemptions through companies designated as critical to the national economy.
For her “services,” the defendant set a clear price: $6,500 each for removing a person from the wanted list and for processing the deferment for each individual.
A client, who was acting under the supervision of law enforcement, agreed to the terms to “save” two men, which was to cost him a total of $26,000.
During the court hearing, the woman fully admitted her guilt and expressed sincere remorse. The defense asked the court to impose only the minimum fine provided for under the article on abuse of influence.
However, the judge rejected these arguments, emphasizing the particular danger to society posed by the crime under martial law.
The court emphasized that aiding and abetting evasion of national defense duty constitutes a serious act of corruption. For this reason, the severity of the punishment was tied to the actual amount of illicit gain the director attempted to obtain.
The court did not accept the defense’s argument that the banknotes found during the arrest were counterfeit, as the intent to enrich oneself through mobilization is the determining factor.
