The number of students over 25 years old has increased eightfold during the war, says head of the State Education Quality Service

Over the past three years, the number of students over the age of 25 in Ukraine has risen from about 30,000 to 230,000, according to Ruslan Hurak, head of the State Education Quality Service. This increase occurred amid the war and reflects a significant shift in the student demographic.

Following inspections of universities conducted by the Education Quality Service, 50,000 students over 25 years old were expelled. This likely indicates stricter enforcement of education quality standards across higher education institutions.

This sharp rise in older students may lead to changes in how educational programs are organized and require adaptations to better meet the needs of adult learners in the near future.
