A former Melitopol official was sentenced in absentia to 15 years for collaborating with the occupiers

The former chief architect of Melitopol in the Zaporizhzhia region was sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison. The Security Service of Ukraine continues to document the crimes of individuals who collaborate with the occupying forces in the temporarily occupied territories.

Investigators from the Volyn Regional Directorate of the SBU have gathered evidence against the 56-year-old former official from the city of Melitopol.

Prior to the Russian occupation, the traitor held the position of chief architect—head of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Melitopol City Council’s Executive Committee. However, after Russian troops occupied her hometown, the traitor voluntarily defected to the enemy.

The perpetrator voluntarily took up, initially, the position of head of one of the departments within the illegally established governing body of the occupying administration of the aggressor state—the “Military-Civil Administration of Melitopol.”

She subsequently advanced in her career among the occupiers and headed the “Department of Municipal Property, Urban Planning, and Architecture.”

Acting on behalf of the Russian Federation, the collaborator actively supported the occupying authorities, implemented their criminal policies, and promoted the ideas of the “Russian World.”

Based on evidence from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Lutsk City and District Court found the traitor and collaborator guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 (treason) and Part 5 of Article 111-1 (collaboration) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The traitor was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment, with a 15-year ban on holding office in state and local government bodies, and with confiscation of her property.

The investigation was conducted by investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine’s Volyn Regional Office under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine in Volyn Oblast.

A Russian agent who was planning a terrorist attack was exposed in Izmail.

Earlier, in the Kyiv region, the SBU thwarted a contract killing of a well-known public figure, which, according to the investigation, was organized by the Russian special services. A 19-year-old resident of Mykolaiv was detained while preparing for the crime.

In Kropyvnytskyi, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a local resident suspected of collaborating with the FSB and coordinating Russian missile and drone attacks on fuel, energy, and logistics infrastructure. During his arrest, two hunting knives were seized from the man, which, according to the investigation, he carried with him to potentially resist law enforcement officers.

Earlier, the SBU exposed and detained a Russian agent in Kharkiv who was helping the enemy target facilities of the Armed Forces. The detainee was accused of directing Russian attacks on the city’s military facilities.

As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region as a result of an attack by the Russian Federation.

Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.

Later, rescue workers showed the aftermath of the strikes on Kyiv.
